Has anyone had any success with VSL probiotics?

I've not tried VSL but my view is :
its probably no better than say other 'quality' probiotic brands (say like biocare).

My impression is that VSL is aimed at the NHS market, via getting some studies done to give it 'prestige'. (and so a premium price and GP marketing) ...
but I could be wrong.
If GPs become 'sellers' of VSL (i.e. they get on the NHS gravytrain) , its probably more profit than trying to market it against competitors in the consumer market.

A bit like fybogel is psyllium husk (or whatever)

I have found them beneficial so far but quite a few things have worked for me in the short term so I will wait and see. When my symptoms are good I have a problem with binge eating as if making up for the many times I have had to eat carefully and hav3 a strict and limited diet. Will give it a few more weeks although they are not cheap.

I have tried the vsl probiotics for a month now. They are ok but nothing works during that time of month apart from a really strict low choline diet.

I believe probiotics have a role, but my concerns are :
1. it seems not enough is known about the gut microbiome yet. In fact very little.
2. same for probiotics.

sad really, as probiotics have been around maybe 30 years.
e.g. perhaps typical probiotics can enhance problems, or disorders need specific strains etc.

I always tend to feel worse on probiotics, but who knows.
