I would be very happy to pay an annual subscription. This website is a lifeline. Thank you so much!
Maybe you could give us an idea as to how much we should all pay, like a suggested donation.

copy of email sent to all members:

Hope you are all well. :D

You may have noticed the recent addition of 'donation' buttons on the website.
(on the homepage, forums and donations pages)

ANY donation is greatly appreciated (and needed!), the motivation behind asking for donations is fully explained here:

http://www.tmau.org.uk/index.php?option ... &Itemid=70

We would like to Sincerely thank those who have very kindly already donated.

We are open to any feedback/comments you may in relation to this. There is already a thread

called 'Website donations / upkeep' that you can use on the forums (See under the Board Index - 'Read it here')

Many thanks

Grahame Lancaster (Admin)

****************************************************************

Here is the Text from that page in full:

The website has been in existence now for a few years and we have helped and supported a significant number of people with TMAU. Our hope is that we can continue to do this for many years to come.

The motivation for creating the website was purely so other people with TMAU could quickly find help and support. I was one of the first people in the UK to be diagnosed in the UK back in the early 1990's and there was simply no one I could turn to at that time.

Up to this point the hosting, development, design and maintenance has been paid for by me. I estimate the financial costs to have been in excess of over £1,000. This would have been greater had I not done most of the work myself (what a learning curve!), however I have reached the limit of my knowledge and have recently had to pay for professional web design companies to resolve various issues. I am therefore asking for donations to try and cover any future costs (I am not seeking to recoup money already spent)

Donations are extremely important to us and greatly appreciated, however everyone is welcome on this website regardless of their ability to donate.

As a result of a website poll (see homepage) we would suggest the following donation amounts: (based on a yearly figure)

£5 - Sutdents,OAPs,Under 18s,Unemployed
£10 - Employed
Donate an amount of your choice (any amount is appreciated)

Many thanks all.

What you have done is great for TMAU sufferers particularly given the sad fact that most of the medical community are not that knowledgeable and are quick to dismiss your fears about smell as being paranoia or stemming from psychological problems particularly when the smell is intermittent, can't be smelled by close family, friends, etc. Don't underestimate the contribution you have made to people like me and just to let you know I would be more than willing to donate an annual fee for the upkeep and maintenance of this wonderful website.

Thanks very much indeed for the kind messages, emails and donations form everyone. :D
Still struggling healthwise but am battling on - as we all must!
Unfortunately I can,t accept any donations other than via the payapal donations page;
The reason is that it enables me to easily keep track of all donations etc.

You can still donate via debit / credit card using the donate button if you don't have a payapl account.

Honestly please don't anyone worry if you are not able to donate !
All the best to everyone for a happy new year.

Here's a copy of the latest email

Hi All,
Hope you are all well; I'm back with the begging bowl! I hope not too
quickly as the last time was 18 months ago.

I’ll start with massive thanks for the very kind donations received,
unfortunately they don’t cover the full costs of that have been mounting up
and I need your help again to pay for the website hosting.

The hosting is £5.99 a month and we get a great service for that price,
however there are hidden costs – some of you may be aware we were ‘hacked’
last year and I had to employ the help of a web developer to restore the
website from backups, this in itself cost over £150.

If you feel the website has helped you the please donate – There are many
people out there who need our help now and in the future.

Donations are extremely important to us and greatly appreciated, however
everyone is welcome on this website regardless of their ability to donate.

As a result of a previous website poll the following amounts are
suggested
Donation amounts: (Annual)
£5 - Sutdents,OAPs,Under 18s,Unemployed
£10 - Employed
Donate an amount of your choice (any amount is appreciated)

Please donate via Paypal by visiting the website homepage :
http://tmau.org.uk/
On the left hand side is the donation amount and button.

Many many thanks..
