Someone can help me?

Postby bcto1ma » Sun Dec 23, 2012 1:09 pm

Hello everyone.
I went to Dr Lachmann, to make analyzes of blood because I suffer from a problem I smell like urine not the exact same, I see the results of the analysis in October and not have TMAU.
What can I do now?
Is there any doctor who can analyze my sweat for example?
I still stink.

Thanks to all

Hi

Would you wish to post your tmau test result ratio ?

Sheffield is very conservative with their reference range. They suggest normal is around <0.21 whereas the NIH article suggests the ratio should be around <0.10

Also I think Dr Lachmann lets people test 3 times, so perhaps you could ask to test at least once more

Can you smell yourself?

At this point I just recommend waiting for the results, your sweat cant be tested to my knowledge. Best way to test is to test the levels of TMA-O in urine compared to TMA. At this point you should just get started on learning the TMAU diet in preparation for the results. And if you really want to get a 2nd opinion you can always check with a nutrition or a herbalist, maybe they can prescribe you some kinds of body cleansers or something along those lines, Most doctors have no clue what there doing in regards to things like this. Thanks. It does seem that your ratio is in the 80-90% range. Sheffield says that normal is around over 80%, whereas the gene reviews article written by Shephard and Phillips suggests normal may be over 90%

I work out your % as 46.1/(46.1 + 6.6) = 0.87 x 100 = 87%

Mild trimethylaminuria: 10%-39% of total TMA excreted as unmetabolized free TMA (i.e 90-61% as TMAO)

If I had a result with a ratio greater than 0.1 I would still wonder if FMO3 was to blame for my malodor (i.e. I would not rule it out). Personally I would even wonder if it was over 0.05 but this would be a 'radical' view.

The big question is whether people with a ratio between 0.1 and 0.21 can definitely rule out FMO3 deficiency as the cause of their malodor.

You could use smart nutrtition but it's £184. It is simple they send it by mail and you post it back.
