odour during ovulation

O.K....so I've been following the low choline diet for a few months now with some promising results. I always get the odd day when I'm obvious smelling despite being careful with my diet but on the whole it's working quite well.

Like alot of you girls out there- I really restrict my diet the week before and during my period and try to be a bit more relaxed the other two weeks so I don't starve to death.

But what I've noticed is that if I eat lots of protein/choline rich foods around the time I ovulate I ABSOLUTELY STINK :( I know that it's when I'm ovulating as I suffer from severe pain in my side and always have done. Normally I can't smell my odour but if I have choline/sulfur containing foods around this time I get a horrible realisation as to why people literally back away from me.

Does anyone else suffer from an odour in the middle of their cycle at all or is it just me?

Still waiting to see the dietician  Got an appointment next Thursday but just at the local hospital so no doubt I'll know more than them. Wish I lived nearer to London

Hi Egglover,

You're not on your own, I think us gals will have a heightened odour around that time of the month, regardless of what we eat. :x

Where do you live?

I live up north - just past blackpool. I'm sure there must be some specialists in Manchester somewhere. I'll give this local dietician a try next Thursday but if it's obvious he/she is just googling to get answers to my questions then it's a waste of time. I'll probably learn more from this forum !

there is an adult metobolism unit in Manchester. possilby they will be of little help other than sympathy but you may get a urine and dna test out of them. I do not recall the Drs name but this is the info about the unit

Thanks poetfire. I'll certainly ask my doctor to refer me but sadly it all comes down to funding. :(
He asked for a second TMAU test to be done as he couldn't believe my levels were so high (4 times the average) but his request was refused. Just keeps telling me to take the same lot of anti-biotics every few months and that's his only solution - apart from the low choline diet. If I just had to starve myself 2 weeks of the month I could put up with the diet but now it's 3 weeks I'm going to waste away !
