address for sending back urine sample...

Postby LJNLindsay » Tue Nov 05, 2013 8:51 pm

My sample kit has no address on where to return my urine sample...

...I know it's Sheffield's children's hospital, but can some please confirm the address. It's taken me so long to get my GP to agree to refering me so I don't want my sample to get lost in the process.

Could someone please post it ASAP as I'm sending it hack on Thursday.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

There's an address here
http://www.meboresearch.org/Nigel%20Man ... e%20UK.pdf

Mr Manning also feels it should have some HCL in it to to preserve it

@poetfire,

Thanks for the link.

I have two tubes: one to collect urine during mid flow, & another containing acid into which, I assume, I decant my sample...

I think this is the same address. If you put to Nigel Manning in the top line

http://www.tmau.org.uk/index.php/getting-tested
http://tmau.org.uk/index.php/joomlaorg/ ... -n-manning

He used to have his own contact page on Sheffield NHS site but it's not there anymore. Maybe he's moved but I don't think so. Looks like they changed the site to make it harder to contact staff direct.

It depends where you got the test kit from. GPs/local metabolic labs tend to make their own rules up re sample instructions. I think as long as you say in the mailing how the sample was taken and any added preservatives etc. In your case it sounds like it would be 'midstream' sample (on waking ? )

I just handed my pot of pee to my GP only to get a call just now informing me that the vial broke in transit and I need to complete another sample.

More eggs and beans!
