Dr Manning has recently retired – due to problems with the assay they have suspended testing for TMAU for the foreseeable future. This is clearly a huge issue for those wanting to be tested,

Currently Sheffield is (was) the only lab in the UK running this test – the alternatives are labs in the US or Netherlands but I have no idea of prices and whether a GP would fund.

Unfortunately Dr Lachmann will not be able to accept any new referrals at the moment as a result.

New information will be posted as and when I receive it. 4th November 2016

Dear Admin

I have been to my GP on 2nd Nov and she showed me the referral forms she is sending to Dr Lachmann. Does the suspension mean it will not proceed further? I don't believe it. I was fighting with her 2 months to refer me and she kept refusing until 10 days ago that I sent letter to the practice manager and they booked me for 2/Nov to discuss it. so when it has been accomplished from GP side it can't be taken further by the testing facility. I am suspecting she knew probably about the suspension and that's why agreed finally to send me.
