Positive first test results..

Postby oldskool » Sat Nov 20, 2010 2:34 pm

Hi all,

I got my first urine test result this week and it was positive:

TMA 66.5
TMAO 74.8
TMA/TMAO 0.89
Creatinine 2.5

I was wondering how these results compare to anybody else's? I'm going to send a 2nd urine sample next week. Can't say whether I'm really happy or not at the moment; it's nice to have a bit of confirmatory data, but on the other hand, I'd obviously rather not have TMAU!I am really happy with how supportive my GP's surgery have been though-I couldn't have asked for better!

Happy weekend all!

Hi Oldskool

I got my first test results this week as well. I've got primary TMAU (TMAU1).

TMA 30.2
TMA-n-Oxide 105.8
TMA/TMA-n-Oxide 0.29
Creatinine 3.6

I'm like you, I don't know how I feel. On the one hand it's good to know it's not all in my mind but on the other hand I wanted to cry because I didn't want it to be positive!!!

Do you have TMAU1 or TMAU2?

Dr Manning has recommended I have a DNA confirmation test done so I've got an appointment to see my own doctor in a week.

TMA-n=Oxide 1242.4 (normal range 17.0 - 147.0)

Hi,

My results are the following.

When do you best a second urine test ? I have taken antibiotics but I don't know if it helps ?
I have eaten two days a lot of forbidden foods like eggs ...and instead of drinking I take broccoli soup before testing....

Trimethylamine(TMA) 240.3 umol/mmol creat 2.5-10.8
TMA-n-Oxide 1045.4 umol/mmol creat 17.0-147.0
TMA/TMA-n-Oxide 0.23 0.05-0.21
Urine creatinine 13.O mmol/L

Is this severe or mild TMAU ?

My TMA is 7.6 so is considered 'diminished' and at the 'tail-end of an enterobacterial infection' so there is light at the end of the tunnel. :) I still smell ,but in a wafty way, not, up two flights and into next door, way! Kx

Kittycat can I ask was your odour really bad before?
Also, how long where you on the diet/protocol to get to this sort of level?
Mine has definately improved a great deal (this has taken me 3 months).
But it was horendous before, as I ate all the worst foods as they were my favourite (without the knowledge of what I had!).

Yes, I think it was really bad kelly, judging by the way some people fell back with shock and horror :o and it travelled! Even in the open air. But I used to say to myself that at least I wasn't disfigured, disabled, or in constant pain. I've been on the diet (sort of) and taking daily probiotics for about 7 years. But only taking the serious probiotics, and charcoal, more recently, so I'd like another test to see if TMA's improved even more. Don't get your hopes up too much tho, remember I'm not hormonal these days either. Good luck with the house sale, love kx

Thanks Kittycat.
Yes, mine did travel in the summer in open air, this hot summer it travelled at least 20 ft (may be much more!) after my nutritionist recommended diet (of course for anyone without this it would have made them better).
It was absolutely terriable.
I am going to try some better probiotics too, even though Dr L says boots digestive health ok.
My real test will be this week as will be mixing with lots of people, as finally going to Dorset for hol (taken a while to come round).
Thanks for the info
