Hi everyone my names melanie ( definitely not a good one when u suffer with this!) I'm 38 an have a 3 year old daughter her an my supportive other half are the only things keeping me going at the moment . Suffered for over ten years with not a clue what it was , have been seeing a cbt counsellor as gp thought I was delusional counsellor has helped me come up with tmau an is attending gp app wit me to get specialist help I need. So hard to b positive an brave now I know exactly what I'm facing an thought of how it is and will affect my daughter breaks my heart. My mum for the first time was there when it happened an that really upset me too now she believes me an is so worried for me . It's so good to b able to read other peoples experience s here an how every ones coping. Would b interested in going to a meet up if any one can give details . Thanks melanie.

Hi Melanie - glad to see you on the forum - my 4 yrs old daughter and Mrs keep me going as well - :D good to see that you are going to get some help.
My GP was similar - never heard of condition and took some convincing.
Also worried about my daughter - once you get yourself tested etc. you can ask to get referred to the NHS gentic counsilling service, we did this on order to get genetic tests on myself (first) then my wife and finally my daughter to see what we might pass on to her. (at least now we know and have the ability to try and help /protect her when and if she starts exhibiting symptoms)#
btw the met ups are normally advertised in the important news and announcements section afaik

Hi Melanie,
I've found this board recently too, and think we might be in similar situations. If you want to chat, I've sent you a private message.
All best
